About Us: Company History Strategies for Human Resources was designed to provide organizations the human resources management expertise they needed when they needed it. SHR was founded in 1993 to help organizations establish smart HR practices which would help them achieve their goals and catch risks before they got into trouble. Patricia Frame had worked in a number of mid-size companies which were still dealing with mistakes made early in their history and knew what a common problem this was in many others. She designed SHR to provide the expertise such companies needed on a cost-effective basis. Reflecting her extensive experience with knowledge workers, SHR's early clients were those in technology-based businesses and government contractors. Their common concerns were how to attract and retain top talent and how to manage performance. Many were in high-growth mode but lacked skilled mid-level management to support their goals and effective ways to attract and assimilate the employees they needed. Over time, SHR has expanded into associations and service businesses which also depend on highly skilled workers and other government contractors. We retain our commitment to providing the assistance clients need, making sure the knowledge is left with the organization, and getting out. We have helped clients grow at rates up to ten-fold. Where useful, we can recommend other consultants and services you need to succeed. The common threads of attracting, developing and retaining high quality employees and of managing them effectively while reducing risk to the organization are critical elements for all SHR clients. Our clients have ranged from 2 to 9,000 employees although most are in the under 200 employee category. |
